Energy comfort thus energy storages

Energy storages are devices which are designed to accumulate the surplus of generated electricity. These solutions have recently become more and more popular, mainly thanks to photovoltaic installations.

What is that exactly?

Usually produced energy is consumed for current needs and its surplus is sent to a power grid. When the photovoltaic panels cannot generate sufficient amount of energy then we can use its surplus, but not for free – 20-30 per cent of the surplus is taken by energy company for storing the energy. Energy storage allows us to avoid this ‘charge’ and to become independent from the external supplier.

Energy storage – for whom?

Energy storages are great solutions for both entrepreneurs and individual users. They are particularly useful in the places where energy demand is high – storing it allows for constant access and reduces possible failures caused by a lack of energy supplies. Even when there is no electricity in the power grid, we will have our own electricity which will protect us from the interruption of work. This is also a perfect solution for places where energy consumption is smaller during the day and becomes greater in the evening and at night – photovoltaic panels produce energy when the sun is shining without storing it. Unused energy is given away to the energy company. If the energy storage was in place the energy would be ‘stored’ and it could be used at any time.

Energy storages for businesses

Undoubtedly investing in energy storage is a good decision for companies, especially these with a 50kWp photovoltaic installation.

Benefits:

  • Maximum consumption of generated energy for the needs of own company, without any loses
  • no shortages in power supply, despite a supplier’s failure
  • there is no negative impact on the environment
  • a full ecological solution, an energy independence,
  • minimizing effects of electric network loads,
  • possibility to use and store energy even in places where there is no access to the power grid,
  • no interference and smooth functioning of the company.

ESS – Energy Solar Systems are systems designed to store energy for large recipients. Power shortage, failure, disruptions have an adverse effect on a company, that is why, it is the best step in their development to install energy storages.

Intensive development of the photovoltaic market allows us to boost the capacity and power capability parameters of batteries, as well as to prolong their lifespan.

Energy storage for house

The most problematic factor for individual clients is the price of the energy storage, which extends the payback time of the photovoltaic installation investment. Market tendencies and growing interest of this topic even on B2C market, show real prospects for price changes and their reduction – it is mentioned in the SolarPower Europe report by its authors. A similar situation was several years ago with photovoltaic installations, which have become very popular in Poland due to the constant drop of the price.

Scattered energy storages at target recipients provide an opportunity to increase the reliability of the power grid. In the areas, where the greatest number of failures occur, such a solution would enable the functioning in an off-grid system for a specified period of time until the failure is removed. As of this moment in Poland there is no subsidies or any other encouragement for self-energy store, however, we hope it will change in the nearest future.
